BOATS

Everything you need to know about choosing and using our boats.

This depends on many factors such as how many people will use the boat, the usage environment (lake, shore, open waters) and on the intended use (fishing, cruising, transportation). Each boat model has a description of their features to support the selection process.

The number of passengers is defined for each boat model in their CE certification. For example, SunnyCat can carry 6 people  in the CE D category conditions (shelted waters) and 5 people in CE C category (coastal waters)

Regular annual maintenance such as cleaning and waxing is recommended as usual for glass-fibre boats.

Each boat has a recommended range for engine power.

Boats can be transported with standard trailers. For SunnyCat there is also a custom design trailer available for sale, matching with the catamaran hull shape.

Electric outboard engines are typically more energy efficient than petrol engines due to high torque and no requirement for mechanical drive shaft. For example, 3 kW electric motor equals 5 hp petrol engine, 6.5 kW equals 10 hp and 10.5 kW equals 20 hp petrol engine.

LiFePo4 lithium batteries are recommended. For 3 kW engine we recommend 5 kWh battery, for 6.5 kW engine, 5 kWh or 10 kWh batteries are suitable and for 10.5 kW engine, 10 kWh - 20 kWh batteries are recommended.

For example, a 3 kW engine run with full power takes 3 kWh energy in 1 hour. Hence, 5 kWh battery would last 1.66 hours or 1 hour 40 minutes. If the engine would run constantly with 50% power, the battery would last 3 hours and 20 minutes.

Yes, they are IP67 rated.

Yes, they can be used in normal ocean waters. Make sure to rinse off salt water before storage.

There is no need for regular maintenance. Wet dirt and dust particles may harden after water has evaporated, so please rinse and clean the engine from dust and dirt before storage.
